Reservations must be scheduled two weeks in advance. Due to the required discussions about the BBQ menu and outdoor activities, we can only accommodate English communication via e-mail or SMS. Lack of response will result in unaccepted reservations. Halal options not available.

Here are our seasonal offer for your BBQ feast. The menus vary throughout the year to highlight the freshest local ingredients.

  1. Large Bone-in Meat BBQ – Oversized cuts of meat, a BBQ classic.
  2. Seasonal Seafood BBQ – Fresh shellfish and fish, featuring the best catch of the season.
  3. Game Meat BBQ – Venison, boar, and other local wild game, depending on availability.
  4. Yakiniku Style BBQ – A variety of thinly sliced meats, with seasonal vegetables.
  5. Seasonal BBQ Platter – A combination of seasonal meats, seafood, and local vegetables.

Who is BBQ Samurai?

BBQ Samurai, also known as Katsunari Okino (Ryoma Nikumoto), hosts a unique FM radio program called "Nikumoto Denpa Tsuushinkyoku 肉本電波通信局" on FM Gaiya. It airs every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM JST. The show highlights his outdoor adventures, BBQ experiences, and features interviews with local people, offering listeners a glimpse into the region’s culture and activities. The program adds to his persona as a master of both BBQ and local hospitality.

Where is Matsuno Town located?

Matsuno Town is located in the southwestern part of Ehime Prefecture, Japan, within the scenic Shimanto River region. It's a small, rural town known for its rich natural environment, including forests, rivers, and the famous Nametoko Gorge. Matsuno is also close to the border with Kochi Prefecture, making it part of the broader Shimanto River area, which is famous for outdoor activities like fishing, camping, and trekking. The town offers unique experiences like BBQ at local lodges and traditional sake brewing.

What is "Poppo Onsen" hot spring like?

Poppo Onsen(literally "Train Hot Spring") is a unique hot spring located on the second floor of JR Matsumaru Station in Matsuno Town, Ehime Prefecture. The onsen is known for its convenient location, offering a quick and refreshing soak for travelers and locals alike. The hot spring provides a relaxing environment where guests can unwind after their travels or outdoor activities, while enjoying the distinct charm of bathing right at a train station. It adds a memorable touch to the local experience.

What is "Nobushi" Sake like?

Nobushi, also known as "Ronin" or "Wandering Samurai," is a locally crafted sake from Matsuno Town. It is made using water sourced from the Shimanto River and high-quality rice from Ehime Prefecture. The sake is known for its refined, traditional taste, reflecting meticulous brewing techniques passed down through generations since the brewery's establishment in 1905. Nobushi offers a smooth and balanced flavor, making it a perfect companion for local cuisine, including the BBQ experience offered at BBQ Castle.

What is the Ninja training room for?

Mr. Nikumoto, also known as BBQ Samurai, is a skilled nature guide who leads tours through the famous Namegawa Gorge in Matsuno Town. His tours include Samurai-style training, offering guests a fun and immersive experience. Before heading out, guests use the ninja training room for costume changes and stretching exercises. Upon request, BBQ Samurai also provides a special outdoor BBQ at the gorge, where the adventure continues with extended Samurai training, blending culinary delights with an exciting outdoor adventure.
